Experience the magic of storytelling as a live narrator and chamber orchestra bring The Sorcerer's Apprentice to life. Follow an adventurous apprentice whose spell spins delightfully out of control, discovering courage, responsibility and imagination in a captivating musical adventure for the whole family.
Acclaimed queer conductor and composer Ryley Gillen collaborates with the Australian Queer Orchestra (AQO) and Rainbow Families to reimagine this beloved tale based on the 1797 poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Featuring all new original music alongside musical references to Paul Dukas' symphonic tone poem used in Walt Disney's Fantasia and original narration performed by beloved children's entertainer Emily McKnight.
Comprising of LGBTQIA+ musicians and allies, the AQO celebrates connection and artistic excellence. Vibrant orchestral music and storytelling combine in an entertaining, accessible experience for family audiences.
